Divine Muse Academy is a 3-month online program for artists seeking community and occult education.
Artists shouldn’t have to create alone. The paradigm of the solitary artist who achieves greatness by themselves is a colonial construct. Art-making can be a solo practice, but it cannot be divorced from it’s sources of inspiration and influences. Art is a conversation—with other artists, with the audience, even with the artist themselves.
In my own work as an interdisciplinary artist, I have found that I need other artists. It’s easy to lose perspective of my own creations. It’s easy to get discouraged, to let imposter syndrome convince me to not schedule the performance, write the book, compose the song. Community is not an artist luxury; it’s a necessity.
Inspired by the artist salons of the 19th and 20th century in places like Harlem and Paris, Divine Muse Academy will be an online container for community building with fellow creatives for the purpose of exploring how astrology, tarot, and other spiritual practices can inspire and enrich artistic process.

What’s included

An artist salon is a gathering space for interdisciplinary artists. Historically, they’ve had tremendous impact on the development of pivotal art movements such as the Harlem Renaissance in the United States and Modernism in Europe.
In Divine Muse Academy, there will be one virtual artist salon per month to share ideas, struggles and joy with other creatives.

In addition to our virtual calls, there will also be a discord channel to connect with other artists. There are sections for sharing your work, voice channels for co-working, channels for sharing artist opportunities, and more.

Biweekly classes will be taught live and recorded for your records. Class topics will cover various spiritual and occult practices and guidance on how to weave them into your art-making.

Meet your Teacher
Aryn the Alchemist is a queer writer, artist, mystic, tarot reader and astrologer based in Milwaukee, WI. They hold a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Chapman University. They were a 2025 Lambda Literary Fellow for Young Adult Fiction and studied under New York Times Best Selling author Aiden Thomas.
As a creative intuitive, Aryn hosts virtual and in-person workshops that weave together art, astrology, tarot, and other occult practices. Divine Muse Academy was born from the desire to build more community with interdisciplinary artists interested in spiritual topics such as astrology, tarot, psychic mediumship and ancestral reverence.
They are a former English teacher who is obsessed with vintage clothing, iced oat milk lattes, and Frog and Toad’s wholesome relationship.

Creative Cycles: Making Art with the Moon
In this class, you’ll learn how to connect your artistic practice with the lunar cycle. We will also identify what moon phase we were born under and what sign and house the moon is located in within the birth chart.

Creative Mediumship: Inviting your Spirit Guides into your art practice
Everyone is capable of mediumship and it takes practice. In this class, you’ll learn some methods for how to connect with ancestors and spirit guides in addition to idea for inviting them to offer advice, feedback and support in your art-making.

Meditation for Artists
You won’t get in trouble for daydreaming in this class. Meditation for Artists features a short lecture on how to use creative visualization practices. Afterwards, Aryn will lead the group through a meditation designed specifically for creatives.

Tarot for Artists
In this class / collage workshop, you’ll learn how to make a uniquely new tarot card. In addition to the class presentation and project, you’ll also receive ideas for how to use tarot spreads for project development, character creation, and deadlines.

Map your own Mythos
Inspired by DnD character creation and using astrology as a narrative inspiration, Map your own Mythos is all about making up fictional characters based on your birth chart placements.

Art-making is a necessary process in creating a more just world. F*ck what people say about it being a frivolous pursuit in a burning world. Toni Morrison said that “art is dangerous” and here at Divine Muse Academy, we encourage each other to embody the courage it takes to create it.

Artists are always growing and evolving when they learn new information. Each class will be an exercise in modeling curiosity; how can different occult practices inform our art-making? How can I be curious about my own process?

We often have multiple mediums within us and this community celebrates all manifestations of our creativity. It also affirms that “artist” isn’t just an identity; it’s an orientation of how you exist in the world.
Who is not invited?
Divine Muse Academy isn’t for everyone, and that’s okay. If you’re someone who thinks that occult practices such as astrology, tarot, altar building, psychic mediumship, and meditation are “fake,” this program will not be a good fit for you.
If you think the only value of art is to create “products” or are looking for “productivity hacks” or instant results, this program will not suit your needs.

Registration for Divine Muse Academy opens on September 3rd, 2025 and closes on October 15th, 2025.

When you register for Divine Muse Academy, you will receive an email with your receipt that will include a link to access the Member’s Only portal. You will need to log in using the email and password you chose when you sign up. In the Member’s portal, you will see the class schedule, the link for the Discord channel, and more information about the program.

Yes. While I’m not sure what the date will be, this is the beta round of Divine Muse Academy and will be offered again in the future. However, the prices will increase the next time.
